Billing Errors

When you create a billing batch, you may receive any of the Billing Errors that are turned on in Master Files | Payors /Plans | Payor Billing Errors. The error you receive will depend on the severity that is set for the Payor Billing Error. Billing errors can be viewed in the Create Batch screen while creating a batch (or later in the Work With Batches screen, while working to resolve errors):

1.    When creating a batch, patients (claims) in the batch will display in either the Clean/Warning section or the Fatal section (depending on the status).

2.    Click    to expand the details in order to view errors for a certain patient. By using the Expand/Hide All Warnings option, you can toggle all billing warnings to be displayed or hidden (for the corresponding section).

3.    Review the billing errors that display. Hover the mouse cursor over a specific billing error to display the remedy that is needed to correct the error.

4.    If necessary, check the Exclude box to remove the corresponding claim from the batch.

If a patient/claim is marked to be excluded from a batch then it will not display in the Work With Batches screen (once the batch is saved).

5.    Click    to save the batch. This will then move the created batch to the Work With Batches screen.

6.    To proceed with resolving batch errors, click the Work With Batches tab

7.    For any particular billing error, click the text of the specific billing error to fastlink to the location of the error.

8.    Make any necessary corrections.

9.    Simply click on the Work With Batches tab to return to this screen. Repeat this process or any remaining billing errors, as necessary.
