Adding a New Referral Source

Use the Referral Sources Master File to set up referral sources (such as Nursing Home, Hospital, and so on).

Before you add a new Referral Source, use the search fields to see if the Referral Source already exists.

 

To add a new Referral Source:

1.    From the Main Menu, click Master Files and then select Referral Sources.

2.    Click    on the Referral Sources tab.

3.    Complete the following fields:

     ID

     Office

     Name, Address, City, State, and Zip

     Referral Category

     Medicaid Number

4.    Click  . When the information saves, the Phones/Email section becomes active.

5.    Make sure the correct Referral Source is highlighted in the Referral Source listing.

6.    Click New in the Phones/ Email section to add a phone number in the phone list.

7.    Enter the phone number in the field, and click the arrow in the next field to select the correct phone type from the list of pre-defined phone types.

8.    Click    to update the phone number.

9.    Repeat steps 4-8 for additional phone numbers.

10.  Click    at the top of the page.

11.  Continue with Adding Referral Sources Contacts.

It is recommended that individual Physician names NOT be included. Instead, they should be entered in Master Files | Physicians. This will avoid the need to manage the record in two separate places. It is also recommended that individual family member and employee names are NOT included in order to help keep the list manageable and clean.
