Creating Manual PPS Episodes

Prior to creating a manual episode, you should have the information from the patient's completed assessment available.

To create a manual episode for a patient in Patients | Admission/Discharge | PPS Episodic Periods.

1.    Click    on the PPS Episodic Periods tab.

2.    In the PPS Episodic Period section, perform the following:

     Enter the Start Date.

     Leave the End Date blank.

     Click the arrow beside Physician and select the physician for this PPS episode.

     Enter the Verbal SOC Date, if applicable.

     Click the Signed Home Health Certification - Plan of Care check box, if applicable.

     If applicable, enter the unique tracking number (UTN) in the UTN/Pre-Claim Review # field.

This field provides all applicable agencies with a way to enter the UTN for patients (in accordance with the Medicare pre-claim review model that CMS is implementing for home health agencies in Illinois, Florida, texas, Michigan, and Massachusetts). Additionally, the UTN column in the display grid will show the unique tracking number that is saved in the corresponding record (if applicable).

3.    In the OASIS Assessment Details section, enter the information from the patient's assessment.

4.    Click the arrow beside RFA (M0100) and select the reason for assessment.

5.    Click the arrow beside (M0110) Episode Timing and select the timing.

6.    Enter the Treatment Authorization Code.

7.    If applicable, enter a date in the F2F Date field.

8.    Click  .
