Logging an Event

The Event Log provides the ability to track specific patient details (Fundraiser Participant, War Veteran, Cancer Survivor, and so forth) or events that occur for a patient within the admission (patient fall, physician visit, transfer to hospital, and so forth) that can then be pulled into a report for review. Event Log is accessible from the Admission/Discharge section of the patient record and Event setup is completed from the Master Files.

To create a new event in Patients:

1.    From the Main Menu, select Patients, click a patient name, and then return to the main menu.

2.    Click Admission/Discharge on the main menu, and click Event Log.

3.    Enter dates in the Event Begin and Event End fields in the mm/dd/yyyy format.

4.    Click the arrow beside Event and select the appropriate event.

5.    Enter additional information about the event in the Comment field, or pull in a pre-defined narrative from the master files.
