Use Medication Groups in the Master Files to add a medication group name and the associated medications. Changes to medication group sat any time do not affect historical data. This feature allows you to add a group of medications to a patient record much quicker than adding each medication individually. This functionality is only available for agencies that have contracted the Medispan feature.
To add a medication group:
1. From the Main Menu, click Master Files, and then select Medication Groups.
2. Do one of the following:
● To copy an existing medication group, highlight the name under Medication Group Name, and click
.
● To create a new medication group, click
.
3. Enter a name in the Medication Group Name field.
4. If your agency is ready to have this medication group active, click the Active check box.
5. Click the arrow beside Agency and select the office with which you want to associate the medication group.
6. Click . One of the following happens:
● If this is a brand new medication group, the list of group medications is empty until you add medications.
● If this is a copy of an existing medication group, the list of group medications contains the same medications from the group you copied. Remove medications you don't want in this group, and add medications.
7. When you finish adding/removing medications, click
