Another major benefit available for users are the remittance tools located in the Collections component of firstREV. firstREV allows users to track and manage remits in the application and ensure they match so that the facility receives the correct payment. By using the remittance features, users can also determine if the patient has any responsibility after payment is received, download remits from payers, review details of a remit and compare to the original claim, or review a claim summary file to see when the claim was sent. Additionally, users can enter remits that were not received electronically so they can be tracked.
To access the remittance features in firstREV, click Collections on the toolbar and then select either Remit Payments or Remit Detail. Additionally, users can access either of these screens by clicking the appropriate option in the Quick Links section on the Dashboard.
● Remit Payments — Track and view all events for the full remittance returned from the payer.
● Remit Details — View individual claims that have been remitted.

firstREV will receive whatever the payer sends back as an ERA file. Users can manually download remits or have them transmitted via SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol). In the scenario that a paper remit is received, and it should be included with a claim, users can also create a new remit and enter details for the paper remit manually. |
