Patient Summary Screen

When the ICD-10 deadline has been reached, all of the new functionality for the Diagnosis / Prognosis screen and the Surgical Codes screen will have already been made available to all firstHOMECARE and firstHOSPICE. Although there are other areas in Enterprise Edition that will be supporting ICD-10 codes, these are the only two areas that will require users to directly enter the ICD-10 codes.

To emphasize this point, we have simply pasted screenshots below of the Patient Summary Screen for each scenario. The screenshot to the left is from currently-running versions of Enterprise Edition while the screenshot on the right is from a test database that includes the new crosswalk functionality for diagnosis codes and surgical codes.

The only difference between these two is that, in the Diagnosis section to the bottom-left, the screenshot on the left is utilizing ICD-9 code data while the screenshot on the right is utilizing ICD-10 data – as reflected in the actual data that can be seen in the fields.

The System Control Date (refer to Billing Changes section) will be used to determine when the ICD-10 codes are displayed on the Patient Summary Screen.
