Database Readiness Checklist

The following is a list of items to review as part of your Enterprise Edition database setup prior to fully going "live". Detailed information is available with instructions on how to perform each item in the list by clicking on the associated link or at http://support.healthcarefirst.com/impdocs/.

General

Preparing Your PC - Complete this process for each computer that staff will use to access Enterprise Edition.

Reference Files

Review Discipline Codes to ensure appropriate Visit Behavior is set.

Review Financial Classes to ensure the desired items are listed.

Review Referral Categories to ensure the appropriate Source of Admission/Point of Origin Code is established.

Review Bereavement Setup, if applicable.

Master Files

Review Agency Master File for organizational structure and billing identifiers.

Review Alerts.

Review DME Vendors.

Review Events.

Review Facilities.

Review Funeral Homes.

Review Medication Groups.

Review Narratives.

Review Payors & Plans.

Review Billing Errors for each Payor.

Setup Billing Format for each Plan.

Setup Service Detail Overrides.

Review Pharmacies.

Review Physicians.

Review Referral Sources.

Review Services & Supplies (Service Master).

Personnel

Review full list of personnel for accuracy.

Add remaining personnel information for tracking purposes, as desired.

Patients

Review full list of patients for accuracy. If patients were pre-loaded for you, there may be patients in the list that have been discharged since the date of entry. For Homecare, these should be removed by deleting the record(s) altogether. For Hospice, these patients should be Admitted and then Discharged (after Caregivers are added) in order to flow to bereavement.

Admit Patients (at time of recertification).

Add Diagnosis Codes.

Add Medications

Add remaining patient information as for tracking purposes, as desired.

Administration

Update User Security for all personnel that will be working in Enterprise Edition.

Review System Control settings.
